The Observatory of Prof. František Nušl

The František Nušl´s Observatory has been resident in Jindřichův Hradec since 1961. Since 1. 2. 2000 the Observatory has been located by the House of Children and Youth in Jindřichův Hradec, where it has been staying to meet full satisfaction of the public till present time. In 2002 it was ceremonially named the Observatory of Prof. František Nušl, who was a signifi cant scientist, pedagogue and native in Jindřichův Hradec. In June 2011 it celebrated its 50th anniversary. The Observatory offers regular opening hours for children and wide public, so you can spend time observing the space with telescopes or attending presentations and lectures in the projection hall. It also organizes the Days of Astronomy, observation of phenomenons, school programmes to support education and excursions in summer camps and many more.
